Private Instruction

Private sessions are an ideal way to begin a yoga practice, or to take an existing practice to a deeper level.  In these sessions, yoga is personalized and a home practice is designed so the practitioner can practice more frequently. In this sense, we follow the homeopathic principle of “less is more”.  For example, a daily 15 minute practice is often more beneficial than a longer weekly practice.  This is achieved because the practice becomes refined.  Profound effects are experienced at the level of body, mind and spirit.


YOGA THERAPY  Working individually, we create a personal home practice to address specific therapeutic issues.  These needs may be physical, emotional or spiritual in nature.  By applying the various tools of yoga we address specific needs in a way that is personally relevant. Therapeutic yoga complements medical care, providing relief for a variety of conditions, including low back pain, scoliosis, cancer, digestive disorders, anxiety, depression, etc. These private sessions are also appropriate for pregnancy.


DEVELOPING A PERSONAL PRACTICE  One-to-one guidance helps create a personalized yoga practice that can be done at home. Goals for a personal practice may include increasing flexibility, stress reduction, strength building, developing mental clarity, etc.  Private sessions offer a level of detail that enhances the group class experience.
